Hi

Hope someone can help.

Running FTGate 2009, and have discovered this morning that I cannot run the ftgate archive viewer, either from the system tray icon, or by clicking the ftgateviewer.exe itself. It just doesn't seem to do anything. Don't know how long this has been the case - this is the first time I have tried to use it in a long time.

All other functions of ftgate 2009 seem to be running fine.

One thing I have noticed is that the icon for the ftgateviewer.exe is the old ftgate5 icon rather than the ftgate 2009 icon - is this anything to do with it?

Thanks for any help

The program you want is FTGateArchive.exe in the FTGate2009 application folder.

Sorry Richard - my bad

I obviously typed the wrong thing in my original post - blame it on the keyboard

It was ftgatearchive.exe I meant rather than ftgateviewer.exe

Running the ftgatearchive.exe doesn't seem to do anything - it looks as if it's thinking about it, but up to 10 minutes later nothing is happening???

It may be that the paths are all mucked up, or, your archive is huge.

Open up the registry editor and check
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FTGate Technology\FTGateArchive

delete the archivepath entry, the close the registry editor and try running the archive prog again.

Thanks for that Richard

Wonder if that's (at least partially) uncovered the problem because there is no FTGateArchive under FTGate Technology - just FTGateLog and FTMonitor?

Can you see the application at all when you start it, if so do the menus work?

Hi Richard

Can't see the archive application at all when started.

I can see in task manager that an ftgatearchive.exe is running, but that's the only sign that anything is happening at all.

i'm getting this same problem. when i try and run ftgatearchive.exe i see it in taskmanager but nothing happens (no dialogs at all).

after around 3-4seconds it disappears from taskman.

spool\archive folder is about 2.5Gb - not sure if that's considered huge or not!

Most likely the path is wrong in the application.
Open the registry and check
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\FTGate Technology\FTGate\archive path
Is it correct?

Hi Richard,

Did you get anywhere with this? I can't use FTGArchive at all at the moment and it would be really handy!
